Presets Galore isn’t the only site offering free Lightroom presets. One school of thought teaches that you should never ever refer a potential customer to a different site or store. However, my belief system dictates otherwise. This is of course a commercial project, but I have this ingrained belief that what we give comes back to us.

Before I start listing resources for free Lightroom presets away from Presets Galore, I’d like to introduce you to the free Lightroom presets we have to offer so far.

1. Pinhole Photography Lightroom Presets

Pinhole photography is essentially lenseless photography. Photos can be made using a variety of materials, but all you really need is a box with a hole in it and film or photographic paper at the other end.

Photos taken with a pinhole camera are typically soft due to the lack of lens and have a nearly indefinite depth of field. Exposures are long and can take up to several hours.

The 5 Lightroom presets in this set were designed to approximate the look of pinhole photographs. However, I would encourage you to get some materials and try out the real thing for yourself!

2. Sharpening Lightroom Presets

Typically, sharpening is the last step in the post-processing workflow. These 5 Lightroom presets will add subtle to dramatic sharpening to your photos.

3. Dramatic Black and White Landscapes

The 8 Lightroom presets were developed to transform your landscape photos into dramatic, high-contrast black and white scenes. However, they can be used with any photo.

4. Improve Old Black and White Photos

While no preset is going to be able to 100% correct a badly faded or damaged old print, these 13 Lightroom presets will improve them.

5. Free Daily Downloads

Free Daily Downloads is a new addition to Presets Galore. Each and every day you can download either a free Lightroom preset or Photoshop action!

1. Phototuts offers a great list of resources for free presets along with a helpful tutorial on how to create and install them if you are a newbie to Lightroom. You can enhance your wedding photos, create Holga and other classic film looks, enhance black and white photos and create HDR effects.

2. mcp actions offers a free set of 15 Lightroom presets, which are a sample from a larger pack that is for sale.

3. Presets Heaven gives out one free preset per day for an entire year! You can also purchase some premium presets or even share some of your own with their huge audience.

4. presetpond offers a number of free Adobe Lightroom presets. All you have to do is register for the site in order to download them. Once you’ve registered you can also contribute presets for great exposure to your website and social media accounts.

5. onOne software offers a pretty large list of Lightroom presets that you can download free. They also have a really useful Lightroom plugin for adding extra effects to your photographs.

6. Adobe’s Lightroom journal has a link to a set of free Lightroom presets found on a Flickr group.

7. Pinterest has a board devoted to nothing but Lightroom presets, some of which are free.

8. Digital Photo Buzz has some free vintage Lightroom presets to share with you.

9. Vision Widget has compiled a list of free presets from various users. There are som attractive vintage film effects, black and white looks, presets for night shots and more.

10. Finally, Digital Photography School has a list of some great places you can download presets for free.

So, if my superstitious beliefs turn out to be correct, sharing these sources with you won’t hurt my site one tiny bit!
