Hi Peter,
It does add a soft blue tint to to the shadows and mid range. However, if your photo is very warm, as in very yellow or orange, it might bring it into a more neutral color (or even green).
Presets are often best as a starting point, since every image is going to have different color temperatures and so forth.
Here is the original photo used in the example above, which shows the lack of blue.
Well I’ll be danged! That split tone is so subtle! Love the variations possible in color and saturation (so I can see the blue better if needed). Thanks!
